Wales to name new boss

The Football Association of Wales will name the successor to Gary Speed as national team manager tomorrow.

Former Wales internationals Chris Coleman and John Hartson have both expressed strong interest in taking over from Speed, who died in November.

Coleman was due to hold talks over the job with FAW officials this week and has appeared to be the front-runner for the post.

Other names linked with the role have included Ryan Giggs, Ian Rush and Speed’s assistant Raymond Verheijen.

The identity of the new manager will be confirmed in a press conference at St David’s Hotel in Cardiff Bay scheduled for midday, the FAW confirmed to Press Association Sport.
