Trap not using friendlies to test new players

Giovanni Trapattoni appears to have ruled out the possibility of any 'bolters' being included in his squad for Euro 2012.

The Ireland manager has said he will not be using the warm-up friendlies as a chance to experiment with new players as he looks to develop a squad mentality ahead of the tournament.

The likes of James McClean, Anthony Pilkington and Wes Hoolihan have all been touted for call-ups as the side prepares for the trip to Poland and the Ukraine.

However, Trapattoni insists that, unless the side are struck by injuries, he won't be calling up any uncapped players ahead of the tournament.

He said that it is important to reward the players that got the Republic of Ireland into the competition.
