Keane on way to Villa - report

Republic of Ireland captain Robbie Keane is on his way to Aston Villa on a short-term loan deal, according to reports.

The 31-year-old did not originally intend to go on loan to an English club during the Major League Soccer (MLS) closed season.

However, the former Spurs, Liverpool, Leeds and Celtic forward reportedly believes a two-month stint in the top flight would help his preparations for Euro 2012.

The Star newspaper reports a deal has already been done.

Villa sit 12th in the Premier League following yesterday's 2-0 loss at home to Swansea.
