Stokes goal sets up Celtic win

A glorious curling opener from Anthony Stokes set up an emphatic 3-0 Celtic win today, as the Hoops began life at the top of the SPL in commanding fashion.

Charlie Mulgrew scored another and helped set up the other two goals today as Stokes made the most of a cross from his teammate and Victor Wanyama volleyed home his delivery before half-time.

Mulgrew completed Celtic’s 10th successive league win when he curled home a 30-yard free-kick midway through the second half.

Smith looked more assured when he saved well from Samaras and Forrest.

Izaguirre came on in the 79th minute to a huge ovation as Celtic cruised to a 10th consecutive SPL win.
