Ring: Qualification would allow 'Irish supporters to sell the country'

The Minister for Sport, Michael Ring, has wished the Boys in Green the best of luck for their match against Estonia tonight.

The Republic of Ireland will face Estonia for the second time in five days and hope to clinch official qualification for the European Championships next year.

They are sitting on a 4-0 lead from the first leg in Tallinn last Friday.

But Minister Ring said Ireland cannot be complacent.

Mr Ring said: "I wish Trapattoni and the Irish team the best of luck.

"We have to be careful, we can never take anything for granted. There's 90 minutes tonight to be played.

"But it would be great for the country and Irish supporters abroad would also be able to sell the country abroad."
