Wolves manager Mick McCarthy and his players have today criticised Wigan defender Antolin Alcaraz after television replays appeared to show him spitting at right-back Richard Stearman.

The incident occurred in the 83rd minute of Wolves' crucial 3-1 home victory and sparked a brawl involving several players from each team.
