Naismith undergoes scan

Steven Naismith has had a scan on his injured knee but Rangers do not expect to receive confirmation of his injury until tomorrow.

Naismith suffered suspected cruciate ligament damage during his club’s 2-1 victory over Aberdeen on Saturday.

The Scotland international, who has scored 10 goals for club and country this season, twisted his knee when stretching to make a challenge on Aberdeen midfielder Rob Milsom.

The former Kilmarnock player played on but soon crumpled to the ground when receiving the ball with no-one near him and was carried off on a stretcher.

Naismith, 25, endured a nine-month absence from first-team action after suffering cruciate ligament damage in his other knee in April 2008.
