Sending-offs only action in dull draw

Both sides had a player sent off on the final whistle as this stalemate failed to produce a goal in a disappointing final game of the season at the Brandywell.

Bohemians striker Christy Fagan and Derry defender Emmet Friars were shown red cards by referee Tom Connolly after a fracas erupted at the end of the game.

Despite there being nothing to play for, a large travelling Bohs support boosted the crowd to around 2,500, one of Derry’s biggest of the season.

Minutes from the end of the game a section of those Bohs fans unfurled a banner which read “This isn't the end” - a reference to the club’s uncertain future as their financial woes are set to come to a head in the close season.

Both sides did have chances in the game with Aidan Downes close for Bohs before Danny Lafferty had an effort saved by Barry Murphy.
