Candystripes hope to continue proud home record
Derry City entertain Bohemians in tonight’s Airtricity League Premier Division clash at the Brandywell, kick –off 7.45pm.
The Candystripes will be looking back on the season as being a great success as they secured European qualification and the League Cup in their first year back in the top division.
City must plan for tonight’s game without injured pair Stewart Greacen and Gareth McGlynn, while Kevin Deery and Ryan McBride are both missing through suspension.
Eddie McCallion and Shane McEleney return to the City squad after recovering from injury.
City boss Stephen Kenny said: "We would like to finish on a strong note - I can't speak highly enough of the players and how they have applied themselves.
"We have lost only four of 35 games and are unbeaten in 20 at home so that's pretty good. Our previous encounters with Bohs this season have been cagey affairs so we expect the same again."
Bohemians have had an up and down season and will finish fifth in this year’s league table.
Gypsies manager Pat Fenlon has a strong squad to choose from for the trip to face his former side.
Midfielder Killian Brennan is unlikely to play as he is struggling with an ankle injury, while defender Aidan Price is still recovering from a leg injury and is another concern.
In head-to-head meetings this season, Derry have recorded 1-0 and 2-0 victories at Dalymount and a 3-0 win at the Brandywell last June.
