Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish has confirmed the club will appeal midfielder Chris Herd’s red card against West Brom on Saturday.

Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish has confirmed the club will appeal midfielder Chris Herd’s red card against West Brom on Saturday.

Herd’s dismissal in the 2-1 defeat looked innocuous and replays showed little sign of the stamp on Jonas Olsson confirmed as the reason for his dismissal by referee Phil Dowd.
