Gaps for Bohs as Cup battle draws close

Bohemians take on Sligo Rovers at Dalymount Park today, for a place in this year’s FAI Ford Cup final, kick-off 3.30pm.

The Gypsies will be looking to put their off-field problems behind them ahead of the clash for a trip to the Aviva Stadium.

Mark Rossiter is set to miss out as he has a calf injury, while Killian Brennan may also miss out as he is struggling with an ankle injury.

Centre-half Aidan Price has recovered from a dead leg and should be fit to play.

But Gypsies boss Pat Fenlon will have to plan without central defender Liam Burns and strikers Christy Fagan and Anto Flood as they are all suspended.

Aidan Downes, who scored late to secure a 2-1 win against Sligo in the Showgrounds two months ago, is likely to lead the attack, while midfielders Ryan McEvoy and Gary Burke who started in last weekend’s league match against UCD will be included in the squad.

Bohs boss Fenlon said: "It is the semi-final of the cup and you don't get to play or manage in too many of them. We're delighted to be in it and we are at home which is a big plus for us.

"Everybody is enthusiastic in the club about it and we're looking forward to it. The suspensions are a big blow but we have had to deal with that over the course of the season.”

Sligo have no injury or suspension concerns ahead of their trip to Dalymount.

The Bit o’ Red will be looking to retain their cup crown after last year’s penalty shoot-out victory at the Aviva and winger Aaron Greene is looking forward to the trip to Dalymount.

Greene said: “It is massive game. Going to Dalymount to play in these games is what you want as a player. Hopefully we can go up, do the job and leave with a Cup final in the Aviva.

“It is going to be very difficult. Pat has set up Bohemians very well this year and they have been very difficult for us personally. I don’t think we have beaten them but hopefully we can overcome that.”
