Seven missing for Dundalk
Dundalk v Derry City
Dundalk entertain Derry City in this afternoon’s Airtricity League Premier Division clash at Oriel Park, kick-off 2.00pm.
Ian Foster’s side will be looking to finish the season with some good results after suffering some very poor form in recent weeks.
And Dundalk must plan without seven of their 17-man senior squad as they look to end a four-game losing streak in their penultimate home game of the season.
Striker Jason Byrne returns to the squad after missing Tuesday’s 5-0 defeat to Sligo Rovers through suspension.
Midfielders Dean Bennett and Greg Bolger are both suspended after getting sent off in Sligo.
Eoghan Osborne (fractured tibia), Stephen Maher (fractured metatarsal) and Colin Hawkins (knee) all remain out.
Mark Griffin is still missing as he recovers from a groin injury, while defender Carl McHugh is away on international duty with the Ireland Under-19 squad.
Derry are still in with a great chance of winning the title and will be confident of taking all three points at Oriel Park.
City boss Stephen Kenny must plan without Eddie McCallion who is struggling with a calf injury, while Ryan McBride is also ruled out as he is nursing a groin strain.
Kenny said: "We have gone on an 18-match unbeaten run and the players have had a remarkable season.
"We were not at our best in drawing with Bray last week. We have got to make sure we get back to a really good performance.
"Going to Oriel Park is never easy. Dundalk have not had a good run of form, but no one can deny that they have good players."
