Students leave it late to beat Pats

A late, late Darren Meenan goal gave UCD a third win on the spin to really dent St. Pat's hopes of getting into Europe via the league.

Central defender David O'Connor headed College in front from Meenan's cross seven minutes before the interval.

Saints had eight ex-UCD players in their starting 11, and one of them, David McMillan, hit back two minutes after the restart when he had the simple task of tapping home Anto Murphy's delivery into the College box.

UCD didn't lie down, though, and they gave as good as they got for the remainder of the game, culminating in Meenan scoring the winner in the last minute of normal time with a stunning curling shot.
