Galway missing five for tomorrow's trip to Sligo

Sligo Rovers take on bottom of the table Galway United in Saturday’s Airtricity League Premier Division clash at the Showgrounds, kick-off 7.45pm.

Jason McGuinness and Eoin Doyle are again ruled out with injuries for the Bit o' Red, while midfielder Richie Ryan is suspended.

Sligo manager Paul Cook said: "The worry is that Eoin Doyle and Jason McGuinness have not trained since the injuries so they will not be involved on Saturday.

“It means they are massive doubts for Tuesday’s game with Dundalk and this is the time of the season you want all your players fit and available.

"We know Galway will try to stop us and they come here with nothing to lose.

“The pleasing thing for me is that in our last two games we have been very professional, recorded wins and put in the level of performance we needed. That is what we’ll be aiming for this week.

"I think if you look at the Bohemians result last Monday it shows that teams will drop points.

“The top four clubs will not go unbeaten between now and the end of the season. We’ll be aiming to put points on the board and keep ourselves up there.

“I want our fans to recreate the atmosphere, the sell-out crowd and the patience from the win against Shamrock Rovers in the FAI Cup earlier this month.

“They really helped us that night and it is vital we get that again in all our games. There are just three left so this is the time to come out and support us."

Galway boss John Brennan will be without five first team players for the trip to Sligo.

Long-term absentees Johnny Keane (knee), Victor Collins (achilles tendon) and Eric Holland (hamstring) will definitely be out.

South Korean centre back Yob Son misses the trip to his former club after he suffered a dead leg in training on Tuesday night. And Stephen Walsh serves an automatic one-match suspension after picking up two yellow cards in United's last home match against Bohemians.

Jin Gu Kim returns to United's squad after missing two weeks because of a niggly hamstring injury.
