Whelan: Bad patch is behind us

Glenn Whelan is hoping the Republic of Ireland have had their sticky patch as they attempt to book their place at the Euro 2012 finals.

Ireland face Slovakia in Dublin on Friday evening and then head for Moscow to take on Russia four days later in a double-header which seems certain to determine the outcome of Group B.
