Santon plugs gap for Magpies
Newcastle boss Alan Pardew finally got his hands on a new left-back tonight when Italian Davide Santon completed his move from Inter Milan to Newcastle.
The 20-year-old put pen to paper on a five-year deal for an undisclosed fee, understood to amount to around £5m, after flying into Tyneside for a medical this morning.
Santon effectively replaces Spaniard Jose Enrique, whose departure for Liverpool earlier this month left Pardew with a massive hole to plug, and will wear his number three shirt.
