Six of the best as Students punished by Hoops
Shamrock Rovers 6 UCD 0
Champions Shamrock Rovers came to life to score four times inside eight second-half minutes tonight as they hit UCD for six for the second time this season.
Though both sides had chances, the game only really exploded into life on 62 minutes when Gary Twigg scored for the third match running to put Rovers ahead, flicking home from a Gary McCabe cross.
Skipper Dan Murray doubled the lead three minutes later with a powerful shot form the edge of the area.
Billy Dennehy ended the game as a contest with the third goal two minutes after that before Gary O'Neill got the fourth within a further two minutes.
Substitute Ciaran Kilduff added the fifth on 84 minutes before central defender Andy Boyle put through his own net for the sixth goal in stoppage time.
The win meant Rovers have put 15 goals past the Students in their three games this season and moves them second in the table overnight.
