Sunderland have today completed the signing of Republic of Ireland midfielder James McClean from Derry City for a fee of £350,000.

Sunderland have today completed the signing of Republic of Ireland midfielder James McClean from Derry City for a fee of £350,000.

McClean, 22, has been capped by Northern Ireland at U-21 level and was called up into the senior squad by Nigel Worthington before pulling out and announcing he wished to represent the Republic of Ireland instead.
