Izaguirre thought to have broken ankle

Celtic left-back Emilio Izaguirre has suffered a suspected broken ankle in today’s Clydesdale Bank Premier League clash at Aberdeen.

The Honduran was stretchered off early in the first half after what looked a fair sliding challenge from Peter Pawlett.

Celtic assistant manager Johan Mjallby told Sky Sports at half-time: “It looks like a suspected fracture but its too early to say. He’s gone for an X-ray now and we’ll know more after the game.

“If he’s going to be away for a long time it’s a big blow but it’s something we’ll have to cope with.”
