Galway Utd's Connor hoping for change in fortunes

Struggling Galway United take on Derry City in tonight’s Airtricity League Premier Division clash at the Terryland Park, kick-off 7.45pm.

United remain rooted to the bottom of the table and manager Sean Connor will be hoping the mid-season break will work to his side’ advantage.

Although how long the former Sligo Rovers boss stays in charge remains to be seen after the club's management committee passed a motion of no confidence in the manager.

Johnny Keane (knee) and Sean Kelly (knee) remain out injured for Galway, while Yob Son is suspended.

Emmet Friars, David McDaid, Laurence Gaughan and Michael McCrudden have been named in the squad to face Derry.

Gareth McGlynn is ruled out for City after picking up a knee injury in the Dublin Super Cup.

Daniel Lafferty is also missing from the travelling squad as he is suspended.

Candystripes boss Stephen Kenny said: "We've been on a good run of form and want to continue that.

“Every three points away from home you have to earn and Galway is no different."
