Derry fail to make the breakthrough against Dundalk
Derry City 0 Dundalk 0
Dundalk frustrated Derry at the Brandywell to prevent them going top of the table tonight, though this point was enough to move Stephen Kenny’s side above champions Shamrock Rovers into second place.
Derry were the better side for good spells as they searched for a fourth straight win. But Dundalk, the last team to beat Derry 10 games ago, came well up for it.
The best chance of the match came right at the death when substitute David McDaid had a header cleared off the line and topscorer Eamon Zayed’s follow-up effort was somehow saved by keeper Peter Cherrie.
