Advantage Rovers as Flora flounder in Tallaght

Shamrock will take a 1-0 lead to Tallinn next week courtesy of Chris Turner’s first-half goal against Estonian champions FC Flora in the first leg of their Champions League second qualifying round tie at the Tallaght Stadium.

Turner’s goal after 34 minutes came only moments after Valeri Minkenen saw a tame penalty saved by Shamrock goalkeeper Alan Mannus.

The hosts dominated the tie for large periods and thought they had scored a second through Dean Kelly, but he was offside when he headed home Ronan Finn’s cross.
