Derry snatch a point at the death

UCD ended a run of seven straight defeats, but it might have been better as they twice surrendered the lead at the UCD Bowl.

Dean Marshall gave the Students the lead on the blow of the interval when drilling home following a quick throw-in.

Out of sorts Derry levelled on 67 minutes when left-back Danny Lafferty headed home from a set-piece.

But College responded within a minute to regain the lead with striker Graham Rusk rifling a shot past Ger Doherty.

Poor defending from another set-piece would again prove UCD's undoing, however, as Derry snatched a point on 85 minutes when substitute David McDaid headed home.
