Zayed pegs back Rovers

Eamon Zayed’s 12th goal of the league season earned Derry a deserved point at Tallaght Stadium as champions Shamrock Rovers remain three points clear at the top of the table.

Rovers started the better and took the lead on 25mins when Gary McCabe’s looping header from Pat Sullivan's super cross beat Derry keeper Ger Doherty.

Derry had made a tactical change by then and it gradually worked as they became the better side for good spells.

They got their rewards on 64 mins when Zayed met James McClean’s corner to glance his header to the net.
