Sligo keep pressure on leaders with win
Sligo Rovers 1 Dundalk 0
Alan Kirby scored for the second week running, only this time it proved a winner as Sligo maintained their second place in the table, two points behind leaders Shamrock Rovers.
Midfielder Kirby scored at former club St. Patrick's Athletic last week, but Sligo suffered a 2-1 defeat.
But his 55th minute strike sealed all three points as Sligo won for the fourth consecutive game at the Showgrounds to beat an injury-hit Dundalk.
Iarfhlaith Davoren and Aaron Greene worked the opening for Kirby whose shot from just inside the area beat Dundalk keeper Peter Cherrie.
