Saints boosted by McFaul return
St Patrick’s Athletic and Sligo Rovers go head-to-head in tonight’s Airtricity League Premier Division clash at Richmond Park, kick-off 7.45pm.
Saints remain without captain Conor Kenna who is still struggling with a knee injury.
Shane McFaul will continue his comeback from injury and is named in the squad, while Dave Mulcahy returns from a hamstring injury.
Danny North has recovered from a muscle strain and is set to start up front.
St Pat’s manager Pete Mahon said: “The style of football played by Paul Cook’s side make Sligo everyone’s favourite team to watch.
“They have quality all over the pitch, including top scorer Eoin Doyle. We are looking to continue our unbeaten run, and playing at home will be giving it a right go.”
Sligo have a fully fit squad for the trip to Inchicore as manager Paul Cook has no injury or suspension worries, with the Bit o’ Red going into the game with the Saints on the back of a run of three wins, scoring nine goals in the process.
Cook said: “All the away games in this league are hard. St Patrick’s Athletic are a very strong team and are very difficult to beat.
“But we’re on a great run and we go there only looking for three points as we do in all games.
“We have a lot of players on form and we look like we’re starting to find our groove now, rather than much later in the season like last year.
“That doesn’t mean we’re going to go out and beat St Patrick’s tomorrow and it doesn’t mean we’re going to lose. But we do have lads playing superbly well and working very hard for the team.”
