Juventus have completed the signing of Swiss defender Reto Ziegler on a free transfer.

Juventus have completed the signing of Swiss defender Reto Ziegler on a free transfer.

The 25-year-old arrives following the expiry of his contract at Sampdoria and has put pen to paper on a deal until June 2015.

“I am delighted,” Ziegler told www.juventus.it. “I can’t wait to wear this jersey.

“For me it is a great honour to arrive to Juventus.

“It’s a step forward in my career and it will give me the opportunity to play with great champions.

“I hope I can show my quality and help Juventus win.”

Ziegler made over 100 appearances for Sampdoria following his arrival in 2007, but left with the club at a low ebb following their relegation to Serie B.

The former Tottenham left-back is Juve’s second summer signing following the arrival of veteran midfielder Andrea Pirlo from AC Milan.
