Delaney takes over Aviva role from Browne

FAI chief executive John Delaney has become the new chairman of the Aviva Stadium for the next two years.

FAI chief executive John Delaney has become the new chairman of the Aviva Stadium for the next two years.

A member of the board of the stadium company since 2005 he takes over from Philip Browne, the chief executive of the IRFU.

Delaney is also a member of the UEFA disciplinary committee and vice president of the Olympic Council of Ireland.

He has been heavily involved in all aspects of the redevelopment of the old Lansdowne Road Stadium into the Aviva Stadium since his election to the board in 2005.
