Kelly suspended for Galway

Struggling Galway United are desperately in need of a victory when they entertain Dundalk at Terryland Park tonight (kick-off 7.45pm).

United right back Shaun Kelly misses the clash against his former club after being sent off against St Patrick's Athletic on Monday night.

Bobby Ryan faces a late fitness test ahead of the game after hurting his back in the recent defeat to Shamrock Rovers.

Gary Curran remains out for a further four weeks as he recovers from a broken metatarsal, while Joseph Yoffe also remains out with an ankle injury.

Galway boss Sean Connor said: "Dundalk are a very good side going forward, but they concede a lot of goals like ourselves. It should be a really open game.

“We have got to tighten up at the back and stop the run of form that we're currently on."

Dundalk travel west without midfielder Greg Bolger who remains out with a thigh injury.

Stephen Maher is also missing with a groin strain, along with Eoghan Osborne who has a fractured tibia.

Dean Bennett (hamstring) and Shane Guthrie (blurred vision & concussion) continue to be assessed.

Dundalk boss Ian Foster said: “Galway United have, for me, the capability to beat anyone in this division.

“They have some very good players, but, like ourselves, they are finding it difficult at the moment with injuries.

“We want to go to Galway United and try to get a victory. It’s not going to be easy but we’ll give it our best shot.”
