Birmingham and Wolves share spoils at St Andrew's
FT: Birmingham 1 Wolves 1
Wolves failed to capitalise on the sending-off of Birmingham midfielder Craig Gardner and remain in the Barclays Premier League bottom three after sharing the spoils at St Andrew’s.
Gardner was sent off after only 29 minutes for the second of two bookable offences and faces a two-game ban as it was his second dismissal of the campaign.
But Birmingham held on for a point in their own battle for survival with Sebastian Larsson cancelling out Stephen Fletcher’s early penalty.
Foster got his body behind a low drive from O’Hara.
Jerome created half a chance for Bowyer but his rising shot failed to hit the target.
Birmingham enjoyed their best spell of possession in the game and Jerome was winning a fair number of flick-ons in the air.
McCarthy brought on striker Sam Vokes, who has returned from a loan spell at Norwich, for Ward with seven minutes remaining.
Wolves searched for the winner and Hammill had a shot blocked by Blues skipper and Republic of Ireland player Stephen Carr.
