Etuhu warning for Bolton

Dickson Etuhu has warned Bolton their FA Cup win at Craven Cottage was nothing more than a Fulham blip ahead of tonight’s Barclays Premier League clash between the sides.

Wanderers beat the Cottagers 1-0 in the fifth round of the cup two months ago but that was the only home defeat suffered in 2011 by Mark Hughes’ men.

Fulham have take 16 points from the last 18 on offer on their own patch and also recorded two thumping cup wins before Bolton ended their run.

And midfielder Etuhu told his club’s official website, www.fulhamfc.com: “Respect to Bolton because they’ve done really well this season. We played at their place earlier on in the season and we got a draw in what was a tough game.

“Their manager, Owen Coyle, has done really well but when they come to our patch, it’s not going to be easy for them.

“We’re playing at home and everyone knows Fulham are a good team at home.”

Etuhu targeted maximum points from the next two games as Fulham attempt to secure the top half finish demanded by manager Hughes.

After tonight’s match, the Cottagers travel to Sunderland on Saturday ahead of their final three games of the season.

Victory tomorrow could catapult them to ninth in the table, while a rare away win at the Stadium of Light would give them every chance of ending a topsy-turvy campaign in the top 10.

Six points in the coming days could even see them challenge eighth-placed Bolton, who currently hold a seven-point advantage over the west Londoners.

But Etuhu said: “We’re not thinking about Bolton – we’re thinking about us.

“The manager has a way he wants us to play and we’re working hard on that – we believe we can win every game.

“We go into every game believing that we can win it and that’s the case with the games we’ve got coming up this week.

“We’re going to go out there and approach the game in the right manner but we believe we’ve got enough to win these games.”

Hughes must decide whether to recall star striker Bobby Zamora, who was restricted to a late cameo in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Wolves after tweaking his back and hip in training.

The 30-year-old is not yet 100% fit after spending six months out with a broken leg and Hughes will not take any chances with him.

He said: “Obviously, he has had a long-term injury so we are very careful with him.”
