Ndo Sligo's only absentee for Connacht derby

Sligo Rovers and Galway United meet in the season’s opening Airtricity League Premier Division Connacht derby at Terryland Park, kick-off 7.45pm.

The Bit o’ Red travel to Galway without Joesph Ndo for the fifth league game in succession due to a foot injury.

The Cameroon international is likely to return in next week’s game with St Patrick’s Athletic. Rovers have no other injury concerns.

Sligo notched a fourth clean sheet in five games in the 3-0 win against Portadown on Monday night.

Derek Foran made his first appearance of the season in that game and he will compete with Jason McGuinness for a starting role.

Rovers boss Paul Cook said: “It is difficult to pick a team to be honest. We had some good performances the other night and players are starting to get sharper.

“But if we get through the game against Portadown, I think people would be horrified by our fixture list in April

“We would have to play Shamrock Rovers twice, a host of Premier Division matches, an EA Sports Cup game and to be honest, we don’t have the biggest squad in the world.

“We all know there are no easy games in this league. It is a difficult place to go and we will have to go out and play to get a win.”

United midfielder Gary Curran is ruled out after suffering a broken metatarsal, which will sideline him for an estimated six weeks.

Steve Feeney is also a doubt for Sean Connor’s side as he recovers from an ankle injury.

Galway skipper Paul Sinnott said: "It's the first Connacht derby of the season. The whole squad is really looking forward to it. We're hoping to build on the result against Bohemians last Friday."
