Redknapp optimistic over Bale

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is hopeful Gareth Bale will be fit to feature in Tuesday’s Champions League game at AC Milan but seems less confident over Rafael van der Vaart and has all but ruled Luka Modric out.

Redknapp said after last night’s 2-1 Barclays Premier League win at Sunderland that he did not expect Wales winger Bale to have recovered from his back injury in time for the trip to Italy.
