Busquets signs new Barca deal
Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets has signed a contract extension to keep him at the Nou Camp until 2015.
The 22-year-old this morning put pen to paper on his new deal at the clubâs offices alongside president Sandro Rosell.-
The new agreement contains an automatic extension for a further year depending on games played in the 2014/15 campaign â and a buyout clause from 80 to 150 million euros.
Busquets made his senior debut during the 2008/09 season and has since established himself as an important member of Pep Guardiolaâs squad.
After penning the new deal, Busquets told Barca TV: "I'm happy. It's the best way to start the year - great news for everyone.
âI am very young, Iâm 22 years old, and hopefully will have a career full of successes.â
He said he felt âjoy, excitement... many sensations â all positiveâ at having committed his future to âthe best club in the worldâ.
A club statement this morning confirmed: âBarca midfielder Sergio Busquets this morning signed a contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2015.
âThe deal also includes the chance to extend the contract based on games played in its final season.
âThe buyout clause [has been] upped from 80 to 150 million euros.â
