Gerrard back in starting line-up
Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard returned to the starting line-up after more than six weeks out with a hamstring tear to face Wolves at Anfield.
The England midfielder was the only change from the team which lost 3-1 at Newcastle on December 11, their last Barclays Premier League match as a result of two weather-enforced postponements.
Maxi Rodriguez made way for Gerrard, which meant central midfielder Raul Meireles was pushed into a wide position.
Wolves, who have not won at Anfield in nearly 27 years, made one change of their own, with Matt Jarvis replacing Dave Edwards.
Liverpool: Reina, Johnson, Kyrgiakos, Skrtel, Konchesky, Kuyt, Gerrard, Lucas, Meireles, Torres, Ngog. Subs: Jones, Agger, Aurelio, Cole, Maxi, Babel, Poulsen.
Wolverhampton: Hennessey, Zubar, Stearman, Berra, Elokobi, Foley, Milijas, Hunt, Jarvis, Ward, Ebanks-Blake. Subs: Hahnemann, Edwards, Fletcher, David Jones, Bent, Mujangi Bia, Batth.
Referee: Peter Walton (Northamptonshire)
