Kilmarnock’s clash with Hearts at Rugby Park on Sunday has been postponed due to a combination of frozen pipes in the stands and a fault with the undersoil heating, the SPL have confirmed.

The match is the first top-flight fixture scheduled for St Stephen's Day to fall foul of the weather, although there are doubts over Dundee United’s home game against Hamilton.

The SPL issued a statement which read: “Please be advised that the Kilmarnock v Hearts match on Boxing Day has been postponed due to a combination of frozen pipes in three of the four stands and concerns about the pitch due to a fault in the protection system caused by the severe weather.

“There will be a pitch inspection at 10am on Boxing Day ahead of the match between Dundee United and Hamilton Accies at Tannadice.”
