Carragher in race to return

Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher is pushing hard for a swift return after surgery on a dislocated shoulder but the club’s medical team are having to rein-in his expectations.

The vice-captain has been out of action since sustaining the injury in the defeat to Tottenham in late November and undergoing an operation to rectify the problem.
