Shearer out of Rovers running

Alan Shearer ruled himself out of contention to become the new Blackburn manager following speculation he would return to his former club.

Shearer has been one of the bookies’ favourites to take over at Ewood Park after Sam Allardyce was sacked by the club’s new owners on Monday.
