Hamilton’s home game against Hibernian tomorrow is the third Clydesdale Bank Premier League game to be called off this weekend due to adverse weather conditions.

A statement released by the SPL confirmed the cancellation, saying: “Please note that the Hamilton Academical v Hibernian game this Saturday has been postponed as the pitch is unplayable. A new date for the fixture will be announced in due course.”

Kilmarnock’s visit to Celtic Park and the match between Dundee United and Motherwell were postponed yesterday on police advice amid concerns for spectator safety.

Inverness are confident the visit of SPL leaders Rangers will go ahead after a team of workers and volunteers cleared snow off their pitch.

St Mirren are similarly confident that their game against St Johnstone will take place after a snow plough was brought in to deal with the ice outside their stadium.

A police safety meeting has been scheduled for lunchtime today.

There will also be a precautionary inspection of the area surrounding Tynecastle this morning with the local authority and police, but Hearts expect the match against Aberdeen to be given the green light.

The Edinburgh club removed cast-iron guttering from the roof of their main stand, some of which had been dislodged by the snow and smashed through the dugouts.
