McLeish makes one change for derby clash

Birmingham boss Alex McLeish has made one enforced change for the Carling Cup quarter-final derby with Aston Villa at St. Andrew’s.

Midfielder Alexander Hleb is ruled out with a hamstring injury that he suffered during the 1-1 draw at Fulham and is replaced by striker Cameron Jerome.

Former Villa midfielder Craig Gardner is named amongst the substitutes after recovering from an ankle injury.

Villa boss Gerard Houllier has made two changes from the sides beaten 4-2 at home by Arsenal.

Striker Gabriel Agbonlahor (illness) and midfielder Jonathan Hogg (ankle) are declared fit and replace John Carew and Robert Pires respectively.

More than 400 police are on duty in and around the ground after the violence which marred the last evening meeting between the sides eight years ago.
