Ten-man Dundalk end UCD's winning run

UCD 0 Dundalk 2

Dundalk ended UCD's good recent run by taking all three points from the UCD Bowl.

A bittersweet first half for Dundalk saw them troop off at the interval a goal to the good but a man down.

Fahrudin Kuduzovic got on the end of Stephen Maher’s cross to fire Dundalk into the led on the half hour.

But central defender Gary Breen was shown a straight red card in the final minute of the half when appearing to elbow UCD midfielder Greg Bolger.

Peter Cherrie deprived UCD of drawing level on 73 minutes when tipping Greg Bolger's penalty onto the bar and away.

Johnny Breen then punished a goalkeeping howler by Bill Brennan to add Dundalk's second goal on 85 minutes.
