McGill the only doubt for Drogheda United

Drogheda United and St Patrick's Athletic go head-to-head in tonight’s Airtricity League Premier Division clash at Hunky Dorys Park (kick-off 7.45pm).

United boss Bobby Browne has an almost fit squad with the exception of Brendan McGill, who remains out with a long-term injury.

Eric McGill is carrying a knock and is a slight doubt, while Glen Fitzpatrick returns from suspension.

Browne said: “We put in a good performance against Sligo and were a bit unfortunate but it was a wonder goal that won it.

“Sligo are one of the best footballing sides in the country and we managed to go there and restrict them, our keeper had very little to do.

“Hopefully we can take the positives into tonight. It is a massive clash and we need to take something from it.”

For Saints, defenders Derek Pender and Ian Bermingham return having each served a one-match suspension.

Paul Byrne is back in training following a long layoff with an ankle injury.

Stuart Byrne (groin) and Damian Lynch (ankle) are both doubtful, while Gareth Coughlan (broken leg) and Shane Guthrie (dead leg) are still sidelined.
