Champions Bohemians finished with nine men but had the consolation of knowing that arch-rivals Shamrock Rovers can't take their title from them when the sides meet at Dalymount park on Tuesday night.

Rovers' shock 3-2 defeat at UCD reduces their lead to five points with four games to play.

Glen Cronin hit a post for Bohs in a tight first-half before all the action came late on.

First winger Mark Quigley was sent off following a clash with Bray defender Adam Mitchell on 72 minutes.

Six minutes later Bohs keeper Chris O'Connnor was also dismissed when he took down Gary Shaw outside the area.

Bohs held were holding on, though, remarkably, might even have snatched a win in stoppage time but for a terrific save by Matt Gregg from Paul Keegan.
