First half goals from Killian Brennan and Jason Byrne gave champions Bohemians a fifth win from six games as they narrowed the gap on leaders Shamrock Rovers to four points.

Winger Brennan struck for the lead goal on 23 minutes with a stunning strike from long range.

Byrne scored for the second match running when heading home Glen Cronin's cross ten minutes later.
