Bohs climb to second

Bohemians 3 UCD 1

Jason Byrne's first goal in almost four months, and further strikes from Gareth McGlynn and Mark Quigley, moved Bohemians up to second in the table.

The only blip on the night for Pat Fenlon's champions was Shamrock Rovers winning at St. Pat's to stay seven points clear at the top.

Byrne rifled home the opener on 29 minutes after McGlynn fed the ball through to him on a swift counterattack.

Quigley's clever feet then set-up McGlynn to blast home the second eight minutes before half time.

Paul Corry got a goal back for UCD during their only good spell in the match on 68 minutes as Bohemians failed to clear Chris Mulhall's short corner.

But Quigley sealed the win on 84 minutes when Paddy Madden won the ball to play him in on goal.
