Vennegoor of Hesselink makes Rapid switch

Rapid Vienna have signed Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink on a two-year deal.

The former PSV Eindhoven and Celtic striker was a free agent after leaving Hull at the end of last season.

Vennegoor of Hesselink said: “I had several interesting offers from all over Europe but at Rapid my family and I instantly got a great feeling.

“I look forward to a new and hopefully successful chapter in my career.”
