Striker Fernando Torres and captain Steven Gerrard returned to Liverpool’s starting line-up for the visit of West Brom in the Barclays Premier League.

The pair missed the Europa League victory over Trabzonspor but were back in the side as manager Roy Hodgson made five changes.

Daniel Agger and Milan Jovanovic, who also did not make the midweek trip to Turkey, returned along with Martin Skrtel in central defence.

Fulham defender Paul Konchesky watched the match from the stands, with his move from the Cottagers expected to be completed in the next 24 hours.

West Brom boss Roberto Di Matteo gave a start to striker Marc-Antoine Fortune on his return to the club from Celtic.

The other change from the side which beat Sunderland last weekend saw Nicky Shorey come in at left-back.
