Bray suffer heavy defeat at hands of Hoops
Shamrock Rovers 4 Bray Wanderers 1
Gary Twigg scored twice as Shamrock Rovers trounced bottom side Bray at Tallaght Stadium to romp five points clear at the top of the table.
Rovers dominated from the start, hitting the woodwork, before taking the lead on 15 minutes when defender Sean Houston bundled a Billy Dennehy cross into his own net.
Twigg then set up midfielder Stephen Rice to double Rovers' lead on 23 minutes before getting his first of the game four minutes later when hooking home from Danny Murphy's cross.
It was 4-0 in the final minute of the half when Twigg latched onto Neale Fenn's through ball to beat Matt Gregg.
Gary Dempsey got Bray's consolation goal on 88 minutes.
