Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni will not be in charge of the team for tonight’s friendly against Argentina, and will remain in hospital after being admitted due to nausea.

Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni has handed over the reins for tonight’s friendly against Argentina to assistant Marco Tardelli.

The Football Association of Ireland have confirmed Trapattoni will today undergo further tests at Dublin’s Mater Hospital after the 71-year-old was yesterday admitted with suspected food poisoning.
