Quinn joins Hawkins on Sporting injury list

Galway United and Sporting Fingal go head-to-head in tonight’s Airtricity League Premier Division clash at Terryland Park, kick-off 7.45pm.

Stephen O'Donnell is an injury concern for Galway after he was sent home from the Airtricity squad with a knee injury.

Steven Walsh got injured last week in UCD but he was back in training during the week and should be fit to play.

Walsh has impressed in his two starts for United and manager Sean Connor acknowledged his contribution.

Connor said: “He's been a revelation because it's the first time we've put him in. We know what he's like. We've had him since he played against Hull City for ten minutes, and he's worked hard for the reserves.

“He's full of energy and bravery. He's a great belief in himself, and he basically does what you tell him, and that's refreshing for a manager. His job now is force himself into the team in his best position.”

Keith Quinn joins Colin Hawkins on the Sporting Fingal injury list for the trip to Galway.

Quinn suffered a foot injury in training, meaning he along with broken ribs victim Hawkins is unavailable.

Fingal manager Liam Buckley said: “Galway have picked up some good results at home this season and we witnessed for ourselves their capabilities on their home patch.

“From our perspective, I was generally pleased with our displays in the draws against St. Patrick’s Athletic and Shamrock Rovers in our last two outings but am conscious of our need to cut out conceding sloppy goals.

“We’ll be approaching this match with the objective of it winning it and keeping in contention near the leading pack in the table.”
